ITINERARY

Day 1 – Tuesday 30 October 2007 - Arrival
Arrive at Ben Gurion airport at 04:35 with meeting assistance.
Start your tour of the Holy Land with a visit to Jaffa. Continue to the wonderful Neot Kedumim Biblical Reserve and enjoy a ‘biblical’ light meal. Transfer to your hotel in Beersheba and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 – Wednesday 31 October 2007 - Light Brigade Anniversary
Experience the 90th anniversary of the Charge of the Light Horse in Beersheba visiting the battle sites from October 1917. Continue onto to visit the Commonwealth Cemetery from WWI. In the afternoon travel deep into the Negev Desert to experience a Bedouin Hafla (feast).

Day 3 – Thursday 1 November 2007Masada and the Dead Sea
Experience an early morning camel (or donkey) ride. Proceed to Ein Gedi, a desert oasis on the western shore of the Dead Sea. Visit the mighty fortress of Masada. Take a cable car ride to the top and visit Herod’s Palaces, dating back 2,000 years. Hear stories about the Jewish zealots who defied the Roman Empire from this location. Afterwards enjoy a swim (float) in the salty waters of the Dead Sea.

Day 4 – Friday 2 November 2007 - Jordan Valley
Explore the caves of Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls where discovered. Travel along the Jordan Valley, stopping to explore the ancient city of Beith Shean, a fully excavated Roman/Byzantine city of Scytopolis. Stop off at Belvoir Castle. Experience a special ceremony at the Yardenit baptisimal site.

Day 5 – Saturday 3 November 2007 - Golan Heights
Ascend the Golan Heights and from Mt. Bental, peer deep into Syria and the ghost town of Kuneitra. See the whole of Northern Israel from atop the Hula Valley. Explore the beautiful falls at Tel Dan and Banias. In the afternoon, visit an IDF military base and learn about the situation on Israel’s northern border (to be arranged by BFP).

Day 6 – Sunday 4 November 2007Sea of Galilee
Explore the new excavations at Tiberias. Enjoy a cruise across the Sea of Galilee in a traditional wooden sailing boat, and visit the ‘Jesus Boat’ museum. Explore Capernaum and see the ancient synagogue where Jesus preached. Visit Tabgha, where the miracle of the Multiplication took place. Ascend to the top of the Mt. of Beatitudes, where you can relive the Sermon on the Mount.

Day 7 – Monday 5 November 2007 - Way of the Sea
Visit Nazarethwhere we will find the churches built on the site where Jesus and his family lived (or Karmiel on own arrangements). See the Carmelite Monastery at the Mukarah, where Elijah smote the false prophets. Explorethe ancient city of Meggido at the crossroads of the important ancient Roman road, the Via Maris. Continue on to Tel Aviv and Jaffa for a short city tour. (Include Daliat Al Carmel, Caesarea and Haifa subject to time constraints)

Day 8 – Tuesday 6 November 2007 - Beit Shemesh
In the morning transfer to Bridges for Peace Head Quarter in Jerusalem for an orientation session, and then transfer to Beit Shemesh for your community outreach project.

Day 9 – Wednesday 7 November 2007 - Beit Shemesh

Day 10 – Thursday 8 November 2007 - Beit Shemesh

Day 11 – Friday 9 November 2007 - Beit Shemesh
Community outreach project.
Transfer back to Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight.

Day 12 – Saturday 10 November 2007 - Tel Aviv
Enjoy a day of rest and recreation in Tel Aviv.

Day 13 – Sunday 11 November 2007 - Temple Mount
Ascend the mountains to Jerusalem, the geographic centre of the world. From the Mount of Olives, overlook Jerusalem and the Temple Mount Esplanade and visit the Garden of Gethsemane. Walk through the, the Christian Quarter, the Stations of the Cross (Via Dolorosa) and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre – the site of the crucifixion. Finish the day with a visit to the Garden Tomb Visit the Time Elevator

Day 14 – Monday 12 November 2007 - Mount of Olives

Day 15 – Tuesday 13 November 2007 - Old City
Today we enjoy a full day visit to the Old City. Walk along the 1700 year old Byzantine main street, the Cardo, and the renovated Jewish Quarter. Experience a spiritual visit to the Western Wall and the Temple Mount (subject to security clearance). Enjoy a walk on Haas Promenade.

Day 16 – Wednesday 14 November 2007 - New City
Explore the New City. Experience a moving visit to Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial (09:00 visit to be confirmed). Visit the Knesset and meet with the Christian Allies Caucus. Optional visit to the Israel Museum.

Day 17 – Thursday 15 November 2007 - City of David
Visit Hezekiah’s Tunnel and the Upper Room at Galicantu Church at Mount Zion. Visit to Herodian (subject to security clearance). Stop at Mahane Yehuda and visit the Pavilion Prayer Tower.

Day 18 – Friday 16 November 2007 - Jerusalem
Have a free day of rest and recreation in Jerusalem.
Enjoy a festive farewell dinner at an authentic Oriental restaurant.

Transfer to Ben Gurion airport for departure at 15:50 (B)
