SHAVU’OT IN ISRAEL A PROGRESSIVE JEWISH TOUR WITH RABBI JONATHAN KEREN-BLACK
It’s a long and expensive undertaking to visit Israel from Australia, so you want to make the most of every minute. This unique tour has selected scheduled Qantas and El Al daytime flights, with an overnight stop at the Regal airport hotel in Hong Kong, and includes a special visit to the beautiful Ohel Leah Synagogue there before the afternoon flight takes us direct to Israel, so you don’t need to travel via Europe first. A return extension via Europe is available, as is a day trip to Petra in Jordan.
Jonathan Keren-Black, Rabbi of the Leo Baeck centre in East Kew, has organised many trips previously for those interested in a fascinating visit to connect with Israel’s heartbeat and contemporary challenges, whilst also experiencing a wide variety of the classic sights and adventures – the ‘must do’ and the ‘must do again’! Several free days are programmed in, but most also have optional visits, and on the touring days you’ll be kept busy with a very full and exciting itinerary. The trip is half board throughout and includes a stay on kibbutz Lotan in the Negev as well as various quality hotels, porterage, registered tour guide and all tips. The timing has been carefully selected to be before the high summer, and the tour has been designed to make its way up to Jerusalem, a culminating in a celebration of the pilgrim festival of Shavu’ot on the ancient steps to the Temple itself, and a farewell havdalah by the Montefiore Windmill overlooking Jerusalem – all in all, a million unforgettable memories in a friendly, welcoming group!
